May Horoscopes

May Horoscopes

This month, we take a look back as a collective and ask ourselves: How could we have done better? Pluto, and Saturn are retrograde, and these two planets hold the major themes for this year and early next year.

When the outer planets go retrograde, we usually feel the influence on a collective level more than a personal one. The Pluto retrograde cycle lasts five months; it stations direct on October 3. Whenever inner planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) go retrograde, we tend to experience the influence in our day-to-day lives. The outer planets present general themes we look at as a collective. They bring us full-circle in many ways or help shift our consciousness about matters related to that planet.

Specifically, Pluto in Capricorn shines a light on corruption, institutional wrongdoing and oppression, and deceit. As Pluto moves retrograde, we might have the chance to bring some of these issues to light.

Saturn, the planetary police officer, is also retrograde, and they’re both in the same sign. The good news is: If you’ve been working hard and staying focused on something, you have manifesting power right now! Saturn likes to reward hard work and diligence, but it also wants to make sure you’re being authentic to yourself in the process. Otherwise, it might nudge you back on track.

Pluto retrograde is a time to reevaluate the power dynamics in your relationships. If you have been involved in a relationship that has an element of control or possessiveness, you could find ways to free yourself from those patterns, if not the relationship, itself. If you have been obsessing about a person or a past situation, Pluto invites you to surrender and let go.

If you have planets around 19˚ - 23˚ of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, you will feel the influence of these planets more intensely than others. So, don’t give up, no matter how challenging the test of faith.

On May 4, the new moon in Taurus invites you to set realistic intentions and plant seeds (literally or metaphorically). It encourages you to be patient, as anything you start will take time to manifest. It will be lasting, though.

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury Retrograde

It’s that time again; Mercury is retrograde. It stations retrograde at 10:19 am on March 5th at 29˚39 Pisces. This one will be a doozy! I’ll give you a little insight about what it could mean for you as well as offer a few tips to help you gracefully move through these three weeks.

When the planet of communication appears to come to a standstill and begin to move backward, it steals the celestial show. It commands attention, and in doing so, it calls us all to look at our Mercury-related stuff. How are you communicating with others? Do you hold back for fear of conflict? Do others perceive you to be too abrasive? Do you get a little passive aggressive from time to time? Circumstances in your life could show up to help you remedy some of these behaviors, and you won’t have a choice. You will have to face some fears, feel some doubts, and consider changing your ways.

With this one, in particular, we have to be real with ourselves and others. If you have been authentic in any way, you might have to come clean and reveal the truth about yourself. In that, you will liberate yourself and detox your psyche. It takes a lot of psychic energy to keep a secret or hold a lie. It is also energetically draining to sense intuitively when someone close to you holds back. Be brave in asking for the truth from others. Secrets can also be toxic to your system.

Communication devices may go haywire. You could spill water on your keyboard, for example, or drop your phone in the toilet. Mercury can be a little trickster, and so it tends to get your attention in not-so-subtle ways. If something like this happens, know there is a deeper significance, and thank Mercury for the heads-up! For example, if you have needed a break from work, your computer might break. Or if you have been feeling disconnected from others, your wifi might glitch. After all, nothing makes you appreciate your connections than being off the grid for a brief time! If water spills on your keyboard, ask: Am I afraid to express my emotions? Or: Have I sent an email in the heat of the moment when I could have waited a few minutes to cool down?

Chiron

Before it stations retrograde, Mercury moves closer to Chiron, the little dwarf planet of the wounded healer. In the days leading up to Mercury retrograde, you might start to feel pangs of hurt, sadness, grief, or other emotions. You might have memories of times when someone from the past hurt you or traumatic events in your life. You might also feel remorse for times in which you hurt others.

During Mercury retrograde cycles, we have a chance to go inward and reflect on your life. In doing so, we can gain perspective to help forgive ourselves and others. It’s especially important to reframe your victim stories to see yourself as a powerful person. Sometimes, just giving voice to your story is enough. At other times, only therapeutic processes can help.

This is a healing time. A clearing time.

Dazed and Confused

This month, you could feel as if you’re walking through a haze, unclear about situations in your life or your direction. Relationships could feel off, and you could question the big decisions you’ve made throughout your life. Try not to take it all too seriously or make bold moves, like quitting your job on a whim or leaving your partner in the heat of an argument. Also, try not to obsess or ruminate about small things, or make more of a situation than it is.

It’s a cycle, and it, too, shall pass.

Guilt, regret, remorse, and shame have to rise to the surface so you can clear them from your energy field once and for all. If you feel any of these emotions, journal, talk to a therapist or good friend, or see a healer. You don’t need to hold on to the past; let it go.

Tips for Each Sign

Here are some Mercury retrograde survival tips for you!

February Horoscopes

February Horoscopes

January’s eclipses provided an intense start to 2019. February is a time to ground and center as the eclipse energy subsides. Several planets in earth signs (Venus, Saturn, Pluto, and later Mars) can help support you in taking practical steps forward in your life this month, but they encourage you to do so with caution.

Your attention may be focused on love and relationships, with Valentine’s Day in the middle of the month. Venus, the planet dedicated to romance, shines in careful Capricorn from February 3 on, making this a time to make careful choices in your love life. If your relationship is rock solid, you can make plans and set intentions together, especially at the time of the new moon on February 4. On February 18 and 22, you could have two chances to rethink your relationship dynamics and make changes to have more satisfying and healthy bonds.

The full moon on February 19 opens your access to imagination. Your dreams may offer guidance or symbolism relating to your life. Notice any creative impulses, and indulge them. You could be receiving a calling to live up to your highest potential, and creativity is a key to gain access to that information.

The moon’s placement in Virgo is excellent for cleaning, organizing, decluttering, or taking a detox. You could also feel more aware of criticism than usual. Therefore, be gentle with your loved ones, and find constructive ways to offer feedback to avoid seeming judgmental.

January Horoscopes

January Horoscopes

This month will feature several transits that set the stage for 2019. Therefore, take note of your life circumstances, how you feel, and what inspires you to make a change. You may not have definite answers about next steps, though. So, observe without judgment, talk things through with people you trust, and find space to tune out the collective noise. These circumstances and the concurrent reflections will offer clues about how to navigate the path ahead. That’s perhaps the greatest gift of this month: You have a window to peek through to access your higher consciousness. It’s time to experience your truth.

You could feel ups and downs. For example, you could have sudden fears about the economy followed by optimism about your future. These shifting currents invite you to hold space for all possibilities in your life and to dwell in the complexity of both/and thinking. You’re just riding the waves of an intense period on either side of two eclipses — a Solar Eclipse on January 5 and a Lunar one on January 21. Eclipses can awaken an internal signal that it’s time to change some aspect of your life. If you are a Cancer, Libra, Aries, or Capricorn Sun, Moon, or Rising, these will especially affect you.

Jupiter steals the show as the star of our astrological play this month and again throughout 2019. As the planet of expansion, it tends to place a giant spotlight on an area of your chart. For Sagittarius, this can be a very favorable influence! You may experience “lucky” circumstances, or have a greater sense of ease in accomplishing anything you dare to dream. Jupiter in a fire sign also supports Aries and Leo throughout the year.

On January 13, we encounter a tricky transit, with Jupiter square Neptune. The optimism of Jupiter meets up with the idealism of Neptune. However, they are challenging one another, and you will need to stay grounded in the practical to avoid a bubble burst later in the year. For some of you, this transit could be that burst, since it occurs in the eclipse tunnel when the energy is ripe for transformation. Pisces, Virgo, and Gemini will feel this influence the most.

On January 22, Venus teams up with Jupiter in Sagittarius, making this a pleasant, romantic day. This energy will be especially enjoyable for Sagittarius, Aries, and Leo.

2019 Horoscopes

2019 Horoscopes

Astrological highlights of 2019:

2019 closes out this decade, and some of the most significant transits set the stage for 2020, which will energetically loom over us. Because of this, 2019 could feel like a transitional year, one in which you will either open or close a chapter in life. Moving through any transitional time, it helps to ground your energy through dedicated spiritual practices, physical exercise, or designating one person in your life to be your "reality check." If you can maintain pragmatic optimism, 2019 will be your year!

Jupiter is one of the biggest stars in our astrological story this year. The planet of luck, expansion, and faith, is in its own sign of Sagittarius. It wants us to go all out, and it can fool us into thinking anything is possible! So, you could overcommit, spread yourself too thin, or overestimate your projected income versus your expenses. Instead, focus on your top priorities so you can end the year feeling accomplished, and make wise financial choices. There are several indicators of an uncertain economy this year and in 2020.

The first month of the year will feature most of the themes you'll encounter in 2019. We start with an eclipse, the first of five total this year, on January 5 in Capricorn. Eclipses present us with new information, often unrealized or hidden truth. Sometimes, they deliver our marching orders from the universe for the fulfillment of our life's mission. This first one is close to Saturn, the planetary police officer, which gives it a serious tone. It could amplify your ambition and push you back to work after the holiday break. You could also learn news of financial or professional matters that could shift your storyline. On January 21, the lunar eclipse in Aquarius asks us to revisit themes from 2018 and ask: Did I make the right decision? Accept the past, and keep your awareness on what healthy, life-enhancing changes you can make in the present. Keep in mind: The two weeks between eclipses can feel very intense! The North Node in Cancer encourages you to feel your feeling-- the joy, sadness, anger, and all.

December Horoscopes

December Horoscopes

This last month of 2018 will feel like the resolution chapter of an intense novel. It’s a time to reflect and recharge before beginning 2019.

We start the month with Mercury still retrograde until December 6. This Mercury retrograde has been particularly challenging for decision-making and communication within relationships. When Mercury goes retrograde, it asks us to fine-tune the way we express ourselves to others, and it’s a time to be honest without hiding or holding back. Mercury stationed retrograde in Sagittarius. The nature of Sagittarius is adaptable, and you may have overlooked details or had a few do-overs, which can be frustrating when you make a holiday purchase only to change your mind the next day.

Keep in mind: Mercury retrograde is a time to go inward and to deeply explore your inner worlds. Anything out of sync in your life will present itself for you to see and remedy so you can be in alignment with your higher self.

On December 1, Mercury slides back into Scorpio, and hidden truth comes into light. If you have had trust issues come up over the past several months, you could learn or intuit clear answers. Mercury’s move back into Scorpio will be especially important for helping us uncover the facts in recent political/social matters. It’s a good investigative influence.

Fire and Water: The Astrology of November 6-11 and the CA Fires

Fire and Water: The Astrology of November 6-11 and the CA Fires

As I write this, the Woolsey Fire is still blazing in Los Angeles County, sending waves of destruction over more than 90,000 acres. My heart has been broken for days thinking of the losses. This fire hits home for me because I’ve recently bought a house in a neighboring community, and for the past several months, we’ve been driving up and down streets in the same neighborhoods involved in the fire. It has been intense to watch the fire spread so quickly and erratically knowing that our new home is just a few miles away.

Several people have asked me about the astrology of these wildfires. I’ve written up a brief overview of some of the most significant transits of that day. These are just preliminary thoughts, but I’ll be adding more in the future as I take time to do more research.

What I found so far can shed some light and also offer a note of caution as we head into 2019.

October Horoscopes

October Horoscopes

Many of you are probably feeling glimpses of what October has in store for us. Venus stations retrograde on October 5, but the shadow periods started on September 2, when it started slowing down. Issues regarding relationships and finances could be at the forefront of your mind. Venus retrograde is a 40-day period to look backward, reviewing past decisions. If anything comes full circle, you get to make different choices this time. Therefore, you could encounter repeat performances of relationships or circumstances from the past that feel eerily familiar. These things happen because retrograde cycles help you break patterns to become a healthier and more integrated person.

August Horoscopes

August Horoscopes

We have been in an "Eclipse Season," a period of emotional intensity between eclipses. It started July 12, and it concludes with the solar eclipse on August 11. Eclipses, being super full and new moons, wake dormant or suppressed emotions, which can rise to the surface of your conscious awareness. Heightened emotions alert us to what is in or out of alignment in our lives. They spur us forward, fueling our energy for personal change.

Because Mars is closer than it has been in 15 years and retrograde (until August 27), some of those emotions might include anger, frustration, passion, or courage. (You can see a live viewing of Mars here!) The heightened awareness you experience right now will ripple change into every area of your life.

This eclipse (as well as the one on July 27), lies on the Aquarius/Leo axis, one that reminds you to use your talents to contribute to the whole. In living the truest expressions of yourself, you shape the global community. So, if you are looking for a way to make a difference, ask what most brings you fulfillment and satisfaction, and do that.

July Horoscopes

July Horoscopes

This is going to be a month to remember because so much is changing both in our collective as well as in personal lives. You could feel fireworks all month long! If you feel like you're in a major transition but don't quite know what it's about, you're not alone. Several astrological indicators of change are all happening this month.

First of all, we have two eclipses, a solar one on July 12 and a lunar one on July 27. In the two-week period between eclipses, you have powerful realizations about your life, including what changes you need to make to live a more purposeful life. You could feel heightened emotions as well, especially passion, frustration, or anger, as the moon will be conjunct Mars on the 27th just before the eclipse.

June Horoscopes

June Horoscopes

The sun steals the show this month as it slides into Cancer on the solstice June 21. Anytime the sun enters a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), we can feel inspired to take action or to move forward in our lives. Cardinal ingresses happen at each equinox or solstice point. The equinox in March starts the astrological year, and it is a time for planting seeds. By the solstice in June, we begin to see a harvest. We can better see the manifestation of our intentions. In the Northern Hemisphere, cultures have celebrated the June solstice as a feast of fertility, abundance, and harvest.

Shortly after the solstice, however, Mars stations retrograde and begins to square Uranus, which moved into Taurus in May shortly afterward, starting July 9. Mars is the planet of action, motivation, and conflict for a cause. In retrograde, Mars slows things down, allowing you time to reassess goals. A retrograde period is not usually a favorable time to launch a new endeavor, as we often feel pulled inward and could experience delays.

May Horoscopes

May Horoscopes

As we enter into the month we get a nice break after April, when we experienced the buildup of dynamic cardinal energy... within a Mercury retrograde period. Quite frustrating! April ended with a powerful Full Moon in Scorpio that was pretty intense for us all because it brought up a whole a lot of suppressed or hidden issues, especially in relationships. Anything unsettled had to come to the surface and you likely have had to get real about working for you and what wasn’t. Now, take a deep breath. The first week of May is like the rest period In an interval training. Relax and enjoy it!!

Then, on May 13, things start to change. The biggest astrological event happening this month features the planet Uranus, the planet of change, surprises, and shocks. It moves into a new sign, Taurus, on May 15. When you think about this planet, think about lightening- sudden, and exciting. It’s all about breakthroughs. It changes signs about every 7 years, and when it does, we experience changes in different areas of our lives.

Astrology for Weight Loss

Astrology for Weight Loss

If you’re like many people, you have probably tried diet and exercise routines to lose weight. Food cravings can make those diets seem impossible to maintain. Did you know astrology can help you stay on track and achieve your health and wellness goals?

It’s true! Astrology is a symbolic language that can help us recognize connections between our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You have every planet represented in your birth chart, each one representing an aspect of your body, mind, and spirit. In addition, every category of food (and thus every craving, from meat to cookies) has an astrological correspondence. Sometimes, when a planetary energy shifts out of balance, you crave corresponding foods.

When you understand the link between your food cravings and the planets, you can tap into a mind/body connection happening in real time. Then, you can assess whether the needs are emotional or physical. This can be super helpful if you’re trying to lose weight.

Happy New Year! 2017 was tough for so many of us because it was a year of change and movement. With Saturn's transit through Sagittarius, we had to face some truth that may have been difficult to realize. Losses resulted in some incredible new beginnings, but change is not always easy. The good news? 2018 is likely to be better. It’s a year of grounding, stabilizing, connecting, uniting, and making commitments. It's a year for being intentional about how you move forward in all areas of your life. Hard work, dedication, and excellence will be rewarded.   Our year starts with a Full Moon on January 1 activating a Grand Water Trine . This is potent emotional energy and sets the tone for the entire year.    Love and relationships are big themes for 2018.    I have been working with many clients to manifest relationships, reframe past experiences, make sense of a WTF world, clear energetic (and actual) debt, and live more purposefully. The basis for much of this work? Returning to the heart. Feeling and receiving love. Maybe the subject of love is also on my mind because I’m getting married in a few weeks! So... Love. Love is powerful energy for transformation. When I talk about love, I mean that pure source energy that you feel when you hold your baby for the first time; meditate or pray to the point of oneness; start a relationship; support someone going through a hard time; grieve the loss a loved one; make love; or experience a creative catharsis. It’s the feeling you have when you lose yourself and experience connection to others and to source. That ecstatic feeling is a version of love. And that’s what we are at our core- it’s what we are here to feel and be. Ecstatic. Love. When we experience ourselves as love, we make right choices and take right actions. We understand on a fundamental level beyond words and thoughts: Love is power . It is a basis for miracles unfolding in our lives. So, if you want to feel more power in your life, and if you want your life to change, feel more love. Make it a habit. Do something to fall in love with life every day. This month is a good time to start because we have Venus/Sun conjunction on January 8 that can help us commit to loving. Our relationships are going to go through some amazing transformations. Saturn has just moved into Capricorn, ushering in a three-year period of commitment and dedication. Saturn is the planet associated with our limitations, and its move into Capricorn urges us to get real with ourselves and others throughout 2018. You will gain clarity about who you are and what you want. If you are experiencing struggles in your relationships right now, trust that you are growing and evolving. You might have a “make-it-or-break-it” moment near January 8-9, in fact. Use any challenge as an opportunity to explore everything. Some of our biggest spiritual expansion comes from the work we do in relationship with one another. Many of you have received a “calling” of sorts or felt urged to make a difference in some way. If so, let love lead the way, and perhaps, you can clear any fear-based obstacles on your path to greater abundance, success, love, and fulfillment. The past two years have been trying. We are at a crucial turning point in our history, moving into a whole new paradigm of quantum reality . This means our thoughts and feelings are more influential in determining our futures than ever. I encourage you to make a habit of feeling more love, joy, and happiness in 2018 (regardless of your life circumstances). January Horoscopes

Our year starts with a Full Moon on January 1 activating a Grand Water Trine. This is potent emotional energy and sets the tone for the entire year.

Love is a theme for 2018.

I have been working with many clients to manifest relationships, reframe past experiences, make sense of a WTF world, clear energetic (and actual) debt, and live more purposefully. The basis for much of this work? Returning to the heart. Feeling and receiving love.

Jupiter in Scorpio

Jupiter in Scorpio

The Jupiter changes signs every 12-13 months, taking a whole 12 years to travel around the Zodiac. On October 10, 2017, Jupiter moves into Scorpio until November 2018.

If you are a Scorpio, this could mean good things to come this year! For all of us, it suggests a time of digging deep beneath the surface, and in doing so, getting in touch with some truth that may have been hidden. We will see this in our personal lives as well as in the collective.

What does Jupiter Represent?

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, faith, and wisdom. In your natal chart, Jupiter offers insight into your soul's spiritual purpose, where and how you experience "luck," your ability to manifest opportunities and goodness in your life, and the nature of your beliefs. Transiting Jupiter in your horoscope can help indicate the areas of life in which significant growth occurs through opportunities and positive life circumstances.

If you are a Scorpio, the next 12 months will be full of such opportunities. For other signs, Jupiter will transit through a different area of your chart, activating major themes represented by that sector.

Here is a breakdown of what it means for your sign:

October Horoscopes

October Horoscopes

LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 22 - OCTOBER 22):

Balance: One of your sign's keywords. While others might see you as poised, graceful, and steady, your internal world often seems quite the opposite. To achieve balance, you often swing from one extreme to another. You have moments of indecisiveness, during which your mind works overtime to weigh pros and cons. Afraid of upsetting anyone, you can replay conversations in your mind and obsess about what you wish you would have said differently.  As an air sign, you are always thinking. The past three months may have activated these tendencies more than ever. You might wonder, How can I get a reprieve from my thoughts? The answer is simple: Feel your heart. Have a good cry; no matter whether your tears are from joy or sorrow.

Cancer (June 21-July 22):

Happy birthday! For a second, let’s consider the crab, your sign’s symbol. It likes to hide in the sand when things get too intense. You might feel that way sometimes but forget about that now. It's your birthday season--time for you to shine! In fact, with several personal planets hanging out in your sign at the beginning of the month, you might have the motivation to get out and explore new places, meet new people, and find hidden talents. In other words: You don’t get to hide away in a protective shell. People love you and want to see you. Seize the opportunity to make it happen. After all, this is the season of pool parties, summer BBQs, and laid-back events.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19):

Happy birthday! I invite you to kick off your new solar year with a moment of reflection. Take a deep breath and think about 2016. What was your major theme for the year? What accomplishments did you achieve? Did you fall in love? Did you grieve a loss? Did you let go of something or someone? It was a transformational time for all of us on the planet, but you may have felt it more intensely than other signs because you experienced a culmination of changes that began in 2012. For four years, the Universe has been working with you to co-create your life in significant ways. As we enter 2017, you are beginning the next chapter of your life.

Happy Holidays! Here are December's Transits

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

2016 shook our collective conscious- the web we make up through our intersecting spiritual cords. 2016 made ripples throughout it. We have all been changed by unexpected circumstances that carried us on a bit of a roller coaster ride. We had to either hold on to the status quo and make peace with ourselves and others, or we had to step away and move into the dark unknown of new beginnings. We saw this in our personal lives and also in world events.

Our higher selves have been calling for pretty intense spiritual growth, and 2016 accelerated growth processes. Consequently, we now find ourselves more closely aligned to our North Node paths more than ever.

What does that mean?

Your North Node represents a point of destiny in your chart, and it is directly opposite the South Node. Together, these points form an axis line that plays a significant role in your chart and life. Your purpose is what brings you the most meaning in your life, what fulfills your soul. However, it is unfamiliar territory. Thus, the closer you get to the realization of your North Node, the more resistance and fear you feel. Your Nodal axis tugs at your ego, urging you forward in often uncomfortable ways and then sends you backward to clear old karma/old emotional and psychological patterns. You slide back and forth between these two impulses throughout your life, finding a balance between the comfort of the South Node and the fulfillment of the North Node.
