February Horoscopes

Welcome to the fast-track month of the year. Things are happening so quickly, you might have to gently press the brakes to slow things down.

Mars is out of bounds, which means it’s not behaving… which means people may be acting out if triggered or allowing their egos to have the last word. We want to try to see from different perspectives and resist being too fixed on a position. With the Sun in Aquarius until February 18, the fixed-sign frequencies are high, making us more prone to stay committed to our point of view. Be willing to let go - with all planets going direct, anger can be one great big energy drain keeping us from accomplishing our true desires - our heart-led goals.

The Leo Full Moon on February 5 is a highlight of the month. This lunation allows us to shine our light in the world. We may want to dramatize circumstances in our lives, and storytelling is a positive feature of this influence. We want to bask in courage but hold onto our center - our truth. As the Sun and Moon form a t-square to Uranus in Taurus, we are restless to act and ripple waves in our families, communities, and the world at large.

We have pure creative potential that can express itself in a masterpiece or in the spark of insight that leads to a new beginning. We’re ready for a shift - inside/out. The external manifestations we see are evidence of our inner landscape. Clear a path.

On February 10, Mercury conjoins Pluto in Capricorn for those tough-love conversations and deep revelations. It allows us to communicate things that have been in the shadows… to overcome the fear of voicing our truth. At the same time, Pluto’s an icy planet. We need to add the warmth of compassion in any conversation or written correspondence. On February 11, Mercury moves into Aquarius, allowing us to envision creative solutions and brainstorm ideas.

Though the 14th is Valentine’s Day, February 15 is the most romantic day! Venus joins Neptune for a celebration of love to the nth degree. It’s a heart-expanding influence.

Pluto hits 29˚ of Capricorn on February 12. As it heads toward Aquarius (March 23), we will see hiccups in the housing market, banking, finance, government, and other Capricorn areas of life. Think of the American and French Revolutions for context. Our experience of power is in flux this year and next, but we’re getting gentle insights about it this month.

29˚ is an anaretic degree, meaning there’s an uneasy feeling. Something’s going to change, but we can’t see it yet. So, we sit on the edge of our seats, ready for action! Truth is coming to light, and we have to open our eyes to see the whole picture.

It’s how we govern our lives, too. Are we censoring ourselves for fear of judgment? Or is it anarchy with our inner adolescents running the show? We want to protect our health and well-being, time, and energy.

The Sun meets Saturn on February 16, and we’re super-focused. Any bubbles of illusion could burst, allowing us to make peace with reality in a way that brings closure. Saturn’s in its own sign (by traditional rulership), making this a friendly influence for goal-setting, focused work, and practical steps forward.

On February 18, the Sun enters Pisces, and the Pisces New Moon on February 19 awakens imaginative thought. Venus enters Aries that same day, letting our spiritual practice include self-love. How do you tend to your needs as sacred? Listen to your body’s cravings and aversions. Let emotions be your guiding lights through the rest of the month.

Venus is moving toward a conjunction with Jupiter (in March), and there’s a build-up of energy leading us to new experiences in love.
